Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was raised by her mother, who was household worker and father who taught. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her elder brothers. McCormick began singing and dancing in her early years and would often perform plays with puppets for the children from her neighborhood. In the year she turned 6, McCormick won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire whether she was looking to pursue a career in show business. McCormick was chosen to play in her debut major part in 1964, in a tv commercial for Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year, she starred for another company's Chatty Cathy Doll and was soon selected for her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was in the company of over 1200 other kids to play the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed who were newlyweds with a blended-family. The show ran for 5 seasons. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the television show, she was close to losing her virginity with her twin brother Barry Williams.
