Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish native singer. She was born on 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she studied the flute piano and the harpsichord over three years. Lennox lived on a student allowance and took in part-time jobs to increase her budget. Lennox as she was studying in the Royal Academy of Music in London, was unhappy in her performance when as compared to the performance of her peers. She began considering other options. Lennox was a flute player in the band Dragons Playground. But she quit prior to the group's appearance on I.T.V.s talent competition New Faces. The main part of her role was The singer for The Tourists from 1977 until 1980. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later create Eurythmics. Lennox then began to work on her first solo album Diva, which was released by 1992. The album had a tremendous success both commercially as well as critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs six solo album that was released in October 2014 was Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. is a selection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul tunes from her upbringing. Lepidoptera is a collection of four improvised tracks for piano that Lennox has released in May 2019. The E.P. is an accompanying piece to her art installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You go... It is also her first independently released album. Annie Lennox (born December 25 1955) is a Scottish musician and political activist. The Tourists were a new-wave band that achieved some recognition in the 1970s. Later, Lennox was joined by fellow artist Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox's debut album in 1992 Diva was a huge success, featuring a variety of songs, including Why the World is Broken Glass. Medusa the album from 1995 studio, features version covers of the songs No MoreI Love Yous as well as A Whiter Shade of Pale. Six solo studio albums as well as a compilation album are to her credit.
